Independent. Local. Proudly Herefordshire.
Herefordshire News is an independent publication dedicated to telling the stories that matter across our county. We cover local news, people, places, and events – from community updates and rural issues to culture, food, and lifestyle.
Our mission is simple: to keep Herefordshire informed, inspired, and connected. We believe local journalism should be trustworthy, engaging, and rooted in the community it serves. That means real reporting, thoughtful storytelling, and celebrating everything that makes our county unique.
Whether you’re in Hereford, Ross-on-Wye, Ledbury, Leominster, or one of the county’s many villages, you’ll find stories here that reflect your life, your neighbours, and your Herefordshire.
Our Story
Herefordshire News was launched in 1983 to bring modern, accessible local journalism back to the heart of the community. Founded by a small team of local writers and editors, the goal was to create a fresh digital platform that celebrates the best of Herefordshire while tackling the stories that truly matter.
We’re not part of a big media group – just people who love this county and want to tell its stories well.
