Air ambulance takes off as major emergency services operation continues

​ReporterThe air ambulance has been seen leaving the scene in Leominster (Image: Hereford Times) THE air ambulance has left the scene after it was called to a serious crash in Leominster this morning. A large number of emergency services workers are on scene in the town after a bin lorry smashed into a house shortly before 7am. The crash has caused significant damage to a property on the Mill Street and Bridge Street roundabout with a huge emergency services presence soon arriving in the area. Both roads have been closed all morning and remain closed at present. ALSO READ: It is understood that the lorry has now been pulled free from the building, with a recovery lorry seen arriving at the scene earlier this morning. An ambulance service spokesperson earlier confirmed that they received a report that a lorry had crashed into a building in Leominster’s Mill Street at 6.45am this morning. “We currently have two ambulances, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic, the Trust’s Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), two Mercia Accident Rescue Service (MARS) BASICS doctors, the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham and the Air Ambulance Critical Care Car from Strensham at the scene,” they said.
