The Cart Shed, based in north Herefordshire, received the funding from The Cadbury Foundation to support its work helping people facing mental health challenges. The grant was awarded through the foundation’s ‘Your Charity Your Choice’ programme, which allows Mondelēz International employees to nominate charities focused on wellbeing. Rob Beavan, senior process engineer at Mondelēz International’s Marlbrook site, put forward The Cart Shed for the scheme. Mr Beavan said: “The Cart Shed does brilliant work with adults and young people in Herefordshire. “I know this generous grant will have an incredibly positive impact. “It’s great that my nomination was backed by my colleagues, and to know that the donation will help the charity continue to deliver its fantastic services.” The Cart Shed uses woodland-based activities to help people improve their physical and mental wellbeing. This approach aims to build confidence and develop healthy coping strategies. Katie Eastaugh, CEO at The Cart Shed, said: “It’s wonderful to receive this generous donation, and we’re honoured to have been chosen by Rob and his colleagues at the Marlbrook site. “This donation will help us fund our Bursary Scheme, which will enable those who do not meet funding criteria elsewhere to be able to access our services and benefit from time in the woods, making a real difference to the lives of the adults we work with.” The Cadbury Foundation, which marked its 90th anniversary last year, has donated more than £1 million since its programme began. Kelly Farrell, community affairs manager at Mondelēz International, said: “We’re delighted that, with The Cadbury Foundation’s support, all of the charities chosen by our colleagues can continue delivering vital services to the communities they operate in, supporting those who need it the most.”
