​ReporterFlood danger as warning now issued for county as river levels rise (Image: NQ) FLOOD WARNINGS have been issued for the county, with river levels rising and the Environment Agency warning of flooding. Although several flood alerts had been issued for rivers in Herefordshire, three warnings have now been issued. The Environment Agency has issued a warning for the River Wye from Hay-on-Wye to Hereford. Warnings are also in place for the River Wye in North Hereford and the River Wye in South Hereford. Flooding may affect properties and roads in and around Hay and Hereford areas, including the A438 between Letton and Willersley and Whitney on Wye. Predicted peaks are now: Hay-on-Wye 3.3 metres to 3.6 metres on 09/12 PM, Bredwardine 5.2m to 5.6m on 09/12 overnight. Flooding may affect properties and roads in North Hereford, including the Greyfriars area and the B4399 Holme Lacy Road in Hereford. The agency said they are “closely monitoring the situation”, and have advised members of the public to avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. Environment
