‘Flooding expected’- flood warning issued for river in county villages

(Image: Getty Images) A FLOOD warning has been issued for the River Teme in Herefordshire this evening. The Environment Agency (EA) has released a warning for the River Teme in Leintwardine and Walford, with flooding expected overnight. Rising river levels are expected to cause flooding, with the most recent reading recorded at 1.71 metres. Property flooding is possible when it goes above 1.75 metres, according to the EA. Read more: The agency has said flooding may affect properties and roads in Leintwardine and Walford, including the A4113 at Leintwardine. Residents have been told to “start acting on your flood plan if you have one”. According to Herefordshire Council’s road closure list, both the A4110 and A4113 at Leintwardine are currently closed. Several flood alerts remain in place around the county this evening, including for the River Lugg north and south of Leominster, the River Arrow, the River Frome, and the River Leadon catchment.
