Free Christmas lunch and lantern parade planned

Ledbury Community Hub is set to host a range of events in the run-up to Christmas, ending with a free feast for all on Christmas Day. A Christmas lantern festival and parade will kick off festivities, following the success of the community’s first Lantern Festival in March. The event includes free lantern workshops scheduled for November 8, November 15, and November 23, starting at 10.30am. The spectacle will begin at 4pm on November 23, with hot drinks at the hub before the Lantern Parade moves through the town for the official lights switch-on. Father Christmas will also be making an appearance at the hub on November 23, between 1pm and 4pm. Children can share their Christmas wishes and capture a festive memory. The climax of the season’s events will be a free community Christmas Day lunch at the hub. Doors will open at 2pm, with lunch served at 3pm, and free presents for children. People have been encouraged to register participation on the hub’s website to ensure the team can prepare enough food. The Ledbury Community Hub is also seeking volunteers to help with workshops, serving the Christmas lunch, and general festive support tasks. Individuals with a passion for community work and the festive spirit are requested to come forward and make this season more joyous for everyone. Full details of all events, including sign-ups for workshops and ways to volunteer, are available on the hub’s website.
