Daniel James Lloyd-McGoldrick scored the opener for the visitors before the Bulls were lifted by teenage forward receiving a red card on 38 minutes. The 10 men of Southport then doubled their lead before the break through Jordan Slew and despite the Bulls throwing everything at their visitors Harley Hamilton’s goal with five minutes remaining was little more than a consolation. “I thought we were good in the first half, although we came in 2-0 down” said Caddis. “We conceded a freak goal from a corner. “We had chances, I think Lawson (D’Ath) had one after 30 seconds. We played a lot more in their half and never felt under huge pressure. “We got caught for the second goal on the counter. In the second half we came out with an extra man and we went a bit gung-ho with the personnel we had on the pitch, but it wasn’t enough.” “I think the majority of the second half was played in their half, but we just couldn’t get a goal early enough to kick on. “At the end you see the scramble on a goal-line, it doesn’t go in.” Caddis was left reflecting on a poor run of form which has seen them drop down the National League North table after picking up just two points from six matches. “We’re extremely disappointed,” added Caddis. “It’s not been good enough. We had a good open meeting on Thursday and individuals have stood up and said that it feels as if they have to do better. “They don’t feel as if we are getting absolutely outplayed, anyone that understands the game, will see that in last two game we haven’t been absolutely outplayed. “There’s moments in the game, when it changes, that have gone against us. Caddis believes that he can turn Hereford’s form around and pull them clear of danger in the bottom half. “We’ve had tough moments before,” he added. “I know everyone wants to look at the negativity, but we were five unbeaten at home. That’s the facts of it. “The context maybe that it wasn’t good enough, games that we think we should have won.”
