Hereford brought back down to earth by league leaders

The Bulls came into the game following three consecutive wins. However, with all of those games coming inside a week boss Aaron Downes made six changes from the side that beat South Shields three days earlier. Matt Preston, Mikey Lane, Andy Williams, Justin Donawa, Joseph James and Harry Tustin all came in from the bench into the starting 11. The Coasters came into the game after moving top of the National League North and also top scorers with 90 goals in 37 matches. Fylde looked dangerous from the outset and marksman Danny Ormerod ghosted past marker Keenan Quansah before firing his effort inside the box wide. The visitors were ahead with just six minutes on the clock after Danny Mayor’s pass released Felipe Rodriguez-Gentile who drove his low effort past the goalkeeper. After his set-piece heroics three days earlier Sohna tested his ability again on 53 minutes with a looping effort which flew just wide of the top corner. The Coasters remainder dangerous and Ormerod drifted between the two central defenders but failed to connect with his subsequent shot which was easily saved by Richardson. Thomas was rewarded for his impressive performance and after finding space inside the box, he guided home Fylde’s fourth on 62 minutes. The Bulls thought they had pulled a goal back seven minutes later through striker Lane, only for it to be ruled out. Visiting goalkeeper Zac Jones kicked the ball straight to Hereford and the ball was played into Lane to fire home, however the striker was judged to be off-side.
