The 29-year-old defender signed for Hereford after a successful trial in July 2023. The former Football League defender has previously played for Newport County, amongst others, but spent two years out of the game after suffering an ACL injury. Since arriving at Edgar Street the six-foot-five inches tall defender has become a staple in the Bulls defence alongside Matt Preston. Howkins again played a key role as Hereford picked up their second clean sheet of the season in Saturday’s win at Peterborough Sports. “I’m really pleased,” said Caddis who congratulated the defender on his 100th appearance. “We obviously got one (clean sheet) against Alfreton and another one today. It’s something that we’ve been desperate to try and get hold of. “It’s not been through lack of effort, or lack organization, or desire to defend. It’s just been individual errors which have killed us a little bit. “But I thought to a man, we were excellent.” Hereford FCFootballSportHerefordshire And WorcestershireHereford
