Hereford face fixture backlog following further postponement

The Bulls have played just two league matches since their home defeat against Southport on Saturday, November 8. A statement from the club on their latest postponement said: “Today’s match has been postponed after a pitch inspection at Bridlington’s Mounting Points Stadium. The pitch has been deemed unplayable by a match official due to a waterlogged pitch.” Their recent postponement at home to Marine will now be played on Tuesday, February 3. Hereford’s Edgar Street pitch will face a test this weekend to dry out in time for their FA Trophy first round tie against Radcliffe. The run of postponements means that Hereford now have two or three games in hand on several of their National League North opponents. However, pressure was eased somewhat on Paul Caddis’ side on Saturday following a 2-0 victory at Peterborough Sports – which moved them out of the bottom four positions. Caddis said that the series of postponements has caused some problems with re-arranging training sessions at short notice. He said: “It’s been difficult because the games have been called off on the day so it’s been difficult, and trying to find venues is very hard on a Saturday. “Everyone plays football on a Saturday’s with kids football. The lad aren’t sat at home and doing nothing, we’ve insisted on them doing a five-kilometre run and they have been doing stuff. “They’re a brilliant bunch, we trust them, we ask for a 5k over the last weekend, as long as they had done it by the Sunday, so everyone had done it, no issues. “They are trustworthy bunch. I’m not a dictator, I’m quite open with them.”
