The Bulls were scheduled to host Peterborough in their first game at Edgar Street in a month. However, after being forced to postpone their match against Marine on Saturday due to a waterlogged pitch the Bulls have opted to travel away in order to avoid another postponement. The postponement means that Hereford’s next scheduled league game at Edgar Street is on Boxing Day against Kidderminster Harriers. Paul Caddis’ side will travel to Peterborough on Saturday, then to Scarborough on Tuesday night and then welcome Radcliffe to Edgar Street for a FA Trophy fixture. Hereford FC Chairman Chris Ammonds highlighted the problems with a section of the Edgar Street pitch following Saturday’s postponement. He now said: “While we would rather not switch this fixture, and are very sorry for any disruption or inconvenience the change causes, we feel this is the most sensible course of action to give our Groundsman, Ben Bowen, more time to continue to undertake work to address the ongoing issue with our playing surface. “We are optimistic that work being done, which has already involved installing two new drains, will improve the playing surface significantly and switching the game takes the pressure off, particularly looking at the weather forecast for Herefordshire for the latter part of the week. Another possible postponement would start to cause a fixture backlog and introduce another Tuesday night fixture, which is not ideal for us, or Peterborough Sports. “We would like to thank Peterborough Sports and the National League for their co-operation and support in switching Saturday’s game, and we once again apologise for any inconvenience caused by the change to our fixture list.”
