The social media star, who makes regular appearances with her dad, Richard Hammond, was involved in the crash last weekend, which saw her crash into a concrete wall at speed. A new YouTube video documents Izzy’s journey in Saudi Arabia up until the race, and shows the moment she crashes, leaving Sideman star, Ethan Payne “shaken up” with tears in his eyes. Izzy was then whisked into the hands of medics, who confirmed that she was unharmed after a medical examination. Speaking to the camera, she said: “That didn’t go very well. I crashed it. “And I genuinely didn’t think that I was going to crash, the whole time that through qualifying, like at no point did I think that I was going to crash that car, and then for some reason, I just decided to crash it, quite hard, 24 Gs hard.” The 25-year-old then told viewers that she would be watching the video playback of her crash, where she said: “It’s not that bad. It’s still half a car.” She added: “I feel like an idiot. I’ve ruined their car, I’ve stressed everyone out. “I’m sorry, I’m fine.” The YouTube video, posted on her dad’s channel, DRIVETRIBE, comes after Izzy made a social media announcement earlier this week, in which she apologised for “obliterating” the high-speed car, and reassured fans that she was fine. She said: “If you just sort of ignore the enormous car destroying catapult sideways into the wall, it was a great weekend in Jeddah!”Pleasure to be a part of the Evo sessions, although I fear Formula E may be reluctant to ever let me set foot within 6 feet of their cars again.”As for the slight kiss to the wall – I fought a battle with understeer and very much lost. But I’m absolutely fine. Thanks for all the messages, very much appreciated.” Izzy’s comment section was flooded with support, including by Lola Yamaha ABT, whom she raced for, who said they were “proud” to have her both in the car and on the team, assuring her that she’s “welcome back any time.” On a previous post, former racing driver and social media personality, Max Fewtrell said: “Glad you’re ok Izzy! Takes guts to go out there into the unknown and give it a go! Be proud, every driver ends up in the wall at some point, proper effort.”
