Jeremy Clarkson ‘losing a fortune’ after ‘total disaster’ at Cotswolds pub

​The former Top Gear and Grand Tour host lives in west Oxfordshire, owning Diddly Squat Farm in Chadlington since 2008. He decided to add a pub to his portfolio nearby in Asthall last year, purchasing The Windmill near Burford for around £1,000,000. (Image: Prime Video) In his new book Diddly Squat: The Farmer’s Dog, which was released last month, Mr Clarkson has stated that the pub was a “total disaster” at the time of writing. He added that although the staff are “happy”, the Cotswolds watering hole was losing him a “fortune”. Mr Clarkson wrote: “Behind the scenes, then, everything is a total disaster. We had a top chef round the other day. “I won’t say who, just that his name begins with an M and ends with an ’arco Pierre White’, and he was bowled over by how good the food is. “And it’s warm, and there’s a fire, and the staff are friendly and young and happy. It’s a proper, traditional pub. “By which I mean you’ll love it, and I’ll lose a fortune and develop a skin disease from the stress of running it.”
