​We’ve rounded up some of the latest events and activities you can enjoy at Hereford’s Courtyard theatre. From award‑winning films to creativity‑boosting classes, there’s plenty to get involved with. Hamnet Partly filmed in the Herefordshire village of Weobley during the summer of 2024, the two and a half hour film continues to attract awards. The story follows Agnes, the wife of William Shakespeare, as she struggles with the devastating loss of their only son, Hamnet. Her grief strains her marriage, while Shakespeare channels his sorrow into creating one of his most famous works, Hamlet. The film promises an atmospheric journey back to Elizabethan England. Showing January to March 4 Veterans Choir 2026 If you’ve ever wanted to sing alongside like‑minded people, a brand new Veterans Military Choir is launching with a free taster session open to all ex‑service personnel. It’s a chance to explore music in a friendly, supportive environment while meeting new people. Wednesdays, 10am – 11am, term time only Dan the Dog Exhibition On Saturday 26 July 2025 a new statue of Dan the Bulldog was unveiled by His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant Edward Harley CBE. It sits on the banks of the River Wye in Bishop’s Meadow. Dan, the original bulldog, was a cherished companion of George Robertson Sinclair, the former organist of Hereford Cathedral. In 1898, on a walk along the River Wye with his great friend Sir Edward Elgar, Dan tumbled into the water, an event that left a lasting impression. To celebrate, primary school children across the county were invited to illustrate Dan’s story. Winning entries and additional standout artworks are now on display. Laura Gale Tap 2026 A fun and engaging tap dance, encouraging creativity and self-expression. Whether your a beginner or bring some dance experience, you will find joy in learning new steps, mastering routines and exploring the dynamic art of tap dance. January 29 to Thursday March 19
