Jennie Cole, from Brimfield and Little Hereford Bowling Club, has become one of four vice presidents of Bowls England, marking the first time anyone from the county has held the position. Ms Cole said: “I am delighted to have been selected to represent Bowls England in the West Region and look forward to meeting as many bowlers as possible, hearing their views and encouraging people of all ages to consider this sport for themselves.” Her two-year role will see her represent the West Region, which covers Herefordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire. Ms Cole is keen to promote the sport’s accessibility. She said: “Bowling is the one true sport that can be enjoyed by any age or ability.” She also welcomed the growing excitement around the international bowls calendar. Ms Cole said: “it is such a very exciting time for bowls with the World Bowls coming to England in 2027.” Those interested can find their nearest club through the Bowls England website.
