Here we have taken a look back through our archives to bring you a glimpse at the school over the years. Through the years it has been a colourful and characterful school as these back in time photos show. In 1996 it was time to bid farewell to acting deputy head of the school after a remarkable 37 years, Mary Baskerville. Smiling pupils remembered her with great fondness as the school also marked her retirement with a special Leavers’ Mass. Also in 1996, 32 pupils sang their hears out in a special musical thanks to the father in law of the school’s then music teacher, Edgar Amor, a special guest. He had composed a prize-winning version of Treasure Island especially for the school. In 1998 the school production of Mary Poppins was a soaraway success for the pupils of Years 5 and 6, part of the school’s Silver Jubilee celebrations. Also in 1998 the weather was also making headlines, when a six year old from the school won the chance to present on BBC Midlands news. She had painted a special picture of a snowy day and was described by the then head as looking very professional during her time on television. Pancake Day in 2000 was certainly a flipping success, with pupils racing to the cooking line and raising money for the disaster in Mozambique. Their pancakes were impressive but not as big as the huge pancake cooked in High Town that day by Hereford’s Mayor Colin Rumsey, part of fundraising for the Macmillan Urology Nurse Appeal.
