Emergency crews, including police, paramedics and the fire service, were sent to Grandison Rise in Tupsley in the early hours of Saturday, 4 April after a car crashed into a property.
As of Tuesday, 7 April, the vehicle remains lodged into the exterior of the house.
A resident said they heard “one hell of a bang” and later saw three fire engines and four police cars arriving at the scene. They claimed to have seen a possible passenger exit the vehicle and said the fire service has not been able to move the car due to concerns about the house’s structural safety.
A separate neighbour described the impact as sounding like a “trailer clattering” and initially thought someone may have hit their own car.
Earlier today, a spokesperson for West Mercia Police confirmed that the investigation into the crash is ongoing. Officers arrived at around 1am to find that a car had “collided with a house”, causing structural damage to the property. “The occupants of the vehicle left the area prior to police arriving,” the spokesperson added. “Enquiries are now ongoing.”
