The Bulls have won just one of their last 14 league games and sit nine points from safety in the National League North, despite having seven games in hand over relegation rivals Southport – who they meet on Saturday. Hereford had been without a game in 10 games and almost gifted their hosts a seventh minute opener when Kyle Howkins’ back-pass was almost intercepted by two runners but goalkeeper Theo Richardson did enough to clear the oncoming danger. Howkins’ defensive partner Matt Preston was forced into action moments later to deny forward Matty Stenson, who had found a decent position. Former Hereford defender Cranston came up against his former side once again. The defender almost opened the scoring on 26 minutes, but his free-kick was saved by Richardson at the near post. Defender Howkins had to be alert to the danger again four minutes later to block a dangerous Jamie Meddows pass back into the six-yard box. The Bulls failed to head their warnings and Telford eventually took a 35th minute lead from the penalty spot, after Stenson caught the visitors napping and was dragged down by skipper Lewis Hudson. Stenson regained his footing and sent goalkeeper Richardson the wrong direction from the penalty spot. Hereford have scored just one goal in their last three matches which was summed up when loanee Cormac Daly completely missed the ball when it dropped nicely on the edge of the box for him. Goalkeeper Richardson kept Hereford in the match early in the second half, firstly denying Charlie Williams’ effort at his near post and then clawing a Stenson stabbed effort off his own goal-line. Hereford’s chances were limited and on 56 minutes Aaron Skinner found Daly whose deflected effort flew wide. The Bulls’ best chance of the game came 12 minutes later when Daly turned provider to find striker Williams whose curled effort flew just wide. However, Stenson looked increasingly dangerous in front of the Hereford goal and was only denied by second by a goal-line Skinner clearance. Moments later Stenson had goalkeeper Richardson beaten with a lobbed effort, which came flying back off the crossbar. However, on 76 minutes Stenson secured the points with a low effort to beat goalkeeper Richardson. Hereford were looking for a way back into the game and had a rare chance nine minutes from time, but both Hudson and substitute Cherif Yaya failed to connect with a free-kick yards out. Insult to injury was added with a third Telford goal in the fourth added minute with substitute James Armson netting after the Bulls failed to clear a ball into the box. Hereford: Richardson, Skinner, Howkins, Preston, Hudson, Mafuta, Martin, Daly (Cisse 72), Hamilton (Yaya 77), Donawa (Pavey 82), Williams Unused subs: Lewis, Roberts, Quansah, Rooney
