Spectacular light show returns to cathedral after previous ‘sell-out success’

Time, an installation by Luxmuralis, has begun at Hereford Cathedral today (Tuesday, January 20), with the doors opened to eager spectators. The 2024 Space show saw over 4,000 visitors flock to the landmark across four nights. Time takes viewers on an “unforgettable journey” through history, science and imagination with a series of immersive projected artworks in the cathedral. Visitors will “voyage through wormholes, venture inside the intricate workings of clocks, and experience a dramatic narrative that spans from the present day back to the very beginning of everything”. Luxmuralis is a collaboration of sculptor Peter Walker and composer David Harper. Mr Walker previously said the pair were “delighted” that their installations would be returning to the cathedral after a “overwhelming and fantastic” response in 2024. ” It’s a real joy to be able to bring our brand-new light and sound installation, Time, to this magnificent setting,” he said. “This show has been created for people of all ages to enjoy, and we look forward to sharing an immersive experience that celebrates both the beauty of the cathedral and the universal theme of time itself.” The installation will run until January 24, with tickets priced at £9 for adults, £6 for children aged four to 16, and free entry for children aged three and under. Tickets can be purchased from Hereford Cathedral, through: www.herefordcathedral.org/time
