The 19-year-old was brought in on loan by former assistant manager Adam Rooney and helped Hereford to a fourth win in six games under new boss Aaron Downes. “I’m absolutely delighted,” said Munday. “It’s an unbelievable feeling. It’s a feeling I haven’t really had in football yet. “This is one of the biggest home crowds (2,498) I’ve played in front of, probably the biggest. To have a moment like that was definitely special. It just makes me want to score more and impress more in front of this crowd again.” The Bulls were playing their first home league game since being beaten against Kidderminster Harriers on Boxing Day. However, they got off to the worst possible start when the Brakes took a fourth minute lead. Hereford defender Kyle Howkins had a defensive nightmare as his pass across his own box was intercepted by Frank Tattum who gratefully netted the opener. Basement side Leamington then sat deep with two players covering their back four in a bid to frustrate Hereford. However, an overlapping run by Aaron Skinner broke through the defensive line before picking out the run of George Munday at the front post who volleyed home a 15th minute equaliser. In an end-to-end spell former Bulls winger l’Lani Edwards almost restored the visitors lead a minute later, but saw his tame effort sail straight into the arms of goalkeeper Theo Richardson. Aaron Downes’ side went straight up the opposite end and Harry Tustin’s cross narrowly evaded Munday. Leamington’s young forward Tattum sensed a weakness in the Bulls defence and drove at the defence before shooting over. Nottingham Forest loanee Daly was enjoying his Edgar Street debut and got the better of his marker before finding striker Munday, who fired into the side-netting from close range. In first half injury time the Bulls were ahead after Keziah Martin’s rifled effort cannoned off the crossbar into the path of Munday to score. Leamington looked to hit back immediately and Max Brogan steered his chance inside the box wide. Moments later substitute Owen Farmer saw his effort across goal save by Richardson, before Daly cleared the rebound from the clutches of Dan Meredith. Early in the second half Brogan had goalkeeper Richardson worried with a dinked effort which sneaked over the crossbar. Munday continued to cause the visiting defence problems and broke through the defence before seeing his effort saved under pressure by a covering defender. Hereford eventually made it 3-1 with 67 minutes on the clock after skipper Lewis Hudson saw his effort saved into the path of Harrison Sohna to net his first Bulls goal. Leamington are fighting for their lives at the basement of the National League North and tried to find a way back into the tie. A kicking error from Richardson allowed the visitors to break and Brogan fired over. The Bulls goalkeeper then redeemed himself with a fine save in a packed penalty area before Joe Clarke?
