A resident in the Wellington Area returned home on the evening of January 24 to find an unknown male on their private land. When challenged, the male claimed he was “waiting for someone to pick him up,” but then walked away, entered a van, and drove off. The area where he was found is only accessible by passing through multiple gates, making his presence “particularly unusual”, police have said. Posting on West Mercia Police site, Neighbourhood Matters, PCSO Rachael Mahoney said the resident has checked their property and confirmed that nothing appears to have been taken; however, the behaviour was “concerning”, and has been reported. The person is described as being a white male, approximately in his 30s, dark hair, tattoos up his neck, and wearing all dark clothing. The vehicle seen is said to be a dark blue van, which is believed to be a ’04 plate. PCSO Mahoney added: “We encourage residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour or unfamiliar vehicles in the area.” Members of the public are asked to report any relevant information via the West Mercia Police website, or via 101.
